I am actually very excited about incorporating blogging in my lessons. Normally I have students free write to prompts in their notebooks, but I'm going to try having them blog responses instead. They will also be asked to read and comment on each other's entries. The benefit of this for students, first of all, is that it is highly engaging. It also gets them more connected to each other and to a variety of opinions and writing styles. Blogging helps students join the larger digital community and add their voices to the cacophony of voices already out there.
